Un-Paid Interns Win their day in Court

I was so happy to read that the two un-paid interns who sued Fox Searchlight for not being paid for work done on Black Swan. Good for you guys! This idea of not paying people to work on a film has to stop. It's not exactly rewarding to work on a set for 16 hours a day and go home with no money in your pocket while the film makes millions of dollars. Even people who make low budget, no budget films. If your film has no budget, then you should not be making a movie because without a lot of money for marketing, etc, I guarantee your film goes nowhere. Do your part and raise money for your film before you hire people. You can't expect someone to wait until your film makes money to get paid. Most take this crap because it is a learning experience. How is anyone supposed to learn anything when they are banished to a street corner controlling the sidewalk or running all over town to find something that was needed 10 minutes ago? Don't bank on learning from people who don't know what they are doing on a film set either because that will do nothing for your resume. Unless it is a big budget film that went somewhere, it doesn't count as experience.
