I highly recommend NOT posting an entire script or even a synopsis online. A copyright or WGA registration will not protect you. Others can simply claim to have come up with your material independently. Years ago, before I knew any better, I posted online a detailed synopsis of a screenplay that I had written. A year later, it was turned into a television series. Unfortunately, I was given neither credit nor compensation. When sending out your work, you need to establish a paper trail. Print out all requests to read your work. Make sure the working title is included somewhere in the text. If you haven’t established a paper trail, your work is not protected
I do. Of course I copywrite mine first though. It's hard enough just to get them to read it! Most rejection letters I've received especially from the studios, are more concerned with you sueing them, then using your material illegally. All the best to you in your career Kevin, Janet:)
