IMDb is very weird when it comes to their database. I am missing a ton of credits due to the fact a lot of my acting was done before the internet (makes me feel old) and with production companies in Australia. If you get one credit with a well known company or project they automatically put you on the site.
You are eligible to join SAG if you have a principal role in a union project. They'll provide the paper work for you to sign. You will be given credit on IMDb for an film in which someone from the production lists the film after a legitimate screening being verified. An actor or crew member can attempt to add a credit on IMDb, once that film is listed,(if they have been omitted) and it may or may not be approved.
Withoutabox. I think this was discussed somewhere earlier.
in what capacity, Sean? as an actor? the producer, will include you in the credits and take care of that for you in projects in which you had a role.

Even if it is a non-union production, you can get on once you have been cast or are a crew member once the film is put up on IMDB.
