I was lucky enough to be chosen as a second rounder at the Austin Film Festival for my screenplay. While I was there I met so many great people who work in the industry as screenwriters. They were so positive and helpful. Their overall message was that if you stick with it you will make it, you will work in the industry. It's those who try once or twice and give up who never see the end goal. I like to keep that thought with me as I live the sometimes daunting life of being an aspiring filmmaker.

Thanks Darwin. Yep it's just about plugging away. Mike - No I just entered into their main competition, but it was great. I would recommend anyone to attend the conference. It was extremely informative. Plus Austin rocks.
I am hoping to get to SXSW! Did you submit there?
This was for a screenplay so not for that one, but we did submit a short film to SxSW this year.
