Shqipe Malushi

Poet, writer, dreamer, dancer, performer, lover

Hello, I just want to introduce myself. My name is Shqipe Malushi, I am of Albanian descent originally from Kosovo, living in NJ. My dream was to become an actress but when I came to the U.S.A. with $50 in my pocket and 50 words of English I got caught in survival, and did not have the strength or opportunity to become an actress. However, in 32 years of transformation from an immigrant to an American I have become many things and among them are: a poet, a writer, a dreamer, a dancer, a performer, and a lover in search of truth. I have had about 27 jobs from being a clown, to babysitter, to cook, to an executive director, to an advocate for change and human potential development expert. I have written 13 books and published one book of poetry (2 editions) in Albanian; wrote more than published. Published many stories in many international publications. Recently I am finishing a book "The Diary of the Fortuneteller of Kabul," a healing journey of love and hope in Afghanistan. I spent about 7 years working in Afghanistan and India as consultant on women's empowerment, gender and leadership. Personally I am person who lives by the rules of LOVE and constantly observes how love manifests in developing human spirit. I believe that love is essence for HUMANITY. Now I am searching for ways to teach about love, I am yearning to get back on stage and use love as a force of communication as I share stories I have collected through my travels in many countries and many people. I belive joy is a state of being and healing, thus I always felt that my call was to bring joy to people who had forgotten about it. Since the days of my youth passed in becoming the person I am today, I hope now that I am entering a state of maturity and wisdom, I will have time to follow my passion of acting, dancing, creating stories and sharing the joy with all come in touch with me. At the same time I will stand as a role model to all showing that aging doesn't mean the end, it only means accepting and enjoying. Thus when I received an email this morning Stage 32 I was so excited because it felt as if universe gave me this gift of connecting to the people of my dreams and passions. I am so happy to connect with all of you and thank you for this opportunity. you can check my website www.malushi.net in gratitude Shqipe
