Extra

I am looking for the part as an extra, but this is all new to me and looking for advice . If someone could help I would greatly appreciate your comments. Thank-you.

I also have the same question. I do know of a few people who(with an agent) went into working as an extra and slowly progressed to lead roles. Got to start small, you know. Anyway, great question, hopefully someone can shed more light/info

If you're moving to a major market, register with a large background actor agency such as Central Casting. If you're staying in your home state, find out about casting directors in your area - watch movies that have been filmed in your state and see who cast the extras/background actors. Get in touch with them, and show up to as many calls as possible that fit your type. Prove that you're consistent and reliable. If you have any period clothing or special talents, make that known, as that's a good way to be a "featured" extra. Hope that helps!
