I'am EXECUTIVE PRODUCER and SENIOR LECTURER in media and communication. Last week our short film THE TRUTH WITHIN won third prize for BEST FILM at the ARAB CAMERA FILMFESTIVAL in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). THE TRUTH WITHIN is an Arab film about emancipation and freedom, and tells the story of the thirty-year-old Lebanese Marwa , who will marry the man she loves . However, her beloved has a different faith than that of her parents . " The Truth Within is a film that feels like a documentary , but it’s not", the jury commented. "The theatrical monologue makes clear that much is at stake; the reckoning with the past and the influence of parents. An additional suggestive undertone arises because is not clear to whom the main character is speaking. Because this is only apparent near the end, this turns out both surprising and revealing." We are looking for interested filmfestivals to show this short (6 mins) in their program.
