Got Funded? I recently went in front of 6 Entrepreneurs/investors (Shark Tank & Dragons Den style) to present my company/book/movie project and its business plan. This group of business people, who are part of a company that specializes in providing investment into film projects through the EIS/SEIS tax scheme gave me their full blessing and support, firmly stating that an investment should be made - I passed the presentation with a resounding Full-House of approval, with the company's head-adviser stating that he would recommend that my company receive the full amount of investment available (double what i had originally asked for). Now, one week later, i have received an email telling me that due to restrictions placed on the company by the Financial Conduct Authority, they cannot invest in me or my company due to my USA based criminal record; which my book/movie is based on..... so, how am i to approach this now? I am being told that they want to invest, but now cannot due to rules and regulations here in the UK. My criminal record is now over 5 years old: my crime dates back to 1999, in the US only. This seems a bit harsh and i am just so fed up right now. And, as i know you can all attest too, it is hard enough to get in front of investors who are willing to even look at investments in film and television in the first place! Any thoughts/ideas/constructive input are welcome. All the best, Mark
