Hey all fellow creatives, I am trying to break into acting to be able to work a job that I love...if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. I'm looking for a script. Something either drama or comedy, that wouldn't require a ton of special effects. I have a couple other people who are on board and ready. Please send me a synopsis of the script, if it's something I feel like we would be able to do I'll request the full script, etc. and we can go from there. I'm tired of working jobs and want to make my dream come true. Let's work together to create the dreams we've been dreaming.

It's not quite on topic, but there are many Equity theatres there and many shows go to Broadway from there. There is also a regional SAG-AFTRA office there.

Curtis – I’m a writer/producer located not far from you (OR). I have a few low budget short comedy scripts that are ready for production right now (some award winning) and starting casting soon. You need to make your head shot and bio available. Post the age range and experience of your ‘people’.

Alle, That's a good point about something pre-written. I would never intentionally destroy anyone's work, because I believe in karma and believe that we all have to work together to make this world a better place. As far as a script goes, I would be looking for something that can be done on a micro-no budget. I would probably be looking for a more serious, drama type move with some comedy. One of the reasons for going that route is because I enjoy those movies, feel like I can do that type of script justice and you don't have to have a lot of special effects.

I'm not sure if you're asking about an actor and producer thing or just looking for a script to attach to? My first love is sci-fi, but sometimes I like to do different things, so I wrote a country western road trip feature called "Guitar Betty & Anne", the leads are female, but the support is male. Very little EFX, but lots of foot stomping country music. It needs funding though, if you're interested, my email is rjmmtv_206@msn.com

It's a long short, 60 pages, not including the music.
Alle, that sounds great. I have booked a couple of jobs, along with my busy schedule I am going to have to push the project a bit. This project isn't in any hurry though.
