I started writing my first screenplay about 6 months ago. When school was out for the summer, I decided that I would work on my script, and finish it before the semester start again. I didn't know how I would be able to do that; since I never wrote one. A months ago, I attended a writer's workshop at GLAWS where Christine Conradt was the speaker. I discovered Stage 32 on her Facebook page. I join, and since then, I found it to be a meaningful resource for myself as a new writer. The very first person that connected with me was RB. Every question I had, he quickly responded. I didn't have to wait months. Secondly, RB made me feel comfortable on stage 32. I have connected with so many people in the film industry, especially screenwriter. Through stage 32, and with all the encouragement, from RB, and stage 32, I finish my first feature script. My script is entitled, "DRAYWOOD PROPHECY."
Congratulations on getting your first feature on paper! That is an accomplishment a lot of new writers never get to experience. When you say you finished, does that mean you've gotten feedback, adjusted the script and polished it? Or does that mean, you finished the first pass, and now time to take it to the next level? I don't want to sound like a downer, but for me the rewrite phase is the most challenging but is where the real work of writing begins. Knowing that you've taken it as far as you can, then being willing to listen to others you trust, and using that information to cut off or rearrange you baby's arms to make for a better story is a difficult task. Hope you best in all your endeavors.
Thanx Boomer for the congrats, and rewrite info. This is my first draft. However, with the software I used, sometime it would freeze and I lost information. When I rewrote the lost part of the script, I saw things differently, and better. With that nugget, I will go back through the script and see what else can I make better. Again, Thanx, Draywood Prophecy
