Horror themed audio storytelling channel with a focus on voice actors and authors

Hello everyone. I just wanted to get the word out a bit about a project that is near and dear to my heart and also something you might be interested in being a part of. I'm an executive producer with Chilling Tales for Dark Nights, which is a horror themed audio storytelling YouTube channel. We are a premiere horror-themed storytelling channel with over 200 posted videos. Our production team consists of more than half a dozen talented audio producers, some of whom are also voice actors and music composers. Since the channel’s inception we have grown our talent pool of narrators, having featured over 50 different voice actors to date, including some notable YouTube personalities such as Markiplier, Cryaotic, Tay Zonday, Manga Minx, HarshlyCritical and MrCreepyPasta, as well as known podcasters like David Cummings of the Parsec Award-winning NoSleep Podcast. Over the past year and half, we have featured the work of a over 100 authors, both published and unpublished, including New York Times best selling authors Rachel Simon and Patrick Rothfuss. We also recently celebrated our own 55,000 subscriber milestone. If you'd like to hear what we do, check out our best of playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpCh5fYI6EcFI0w96hlhJWcIiL8ABqARG I'm posting this here because it's not a job so much as it is an ongoing collaboration. We're always on the lookout for voice acting talent. Most of the team works on a volunteer basis because they're passionate about the work and want to grow the channel so it can become profitable for everyone involved. It's also a great way for actors get some field experience and get your name out. I myself have been approached for a short film and an audiobook and I'm not even a professional voice actor or audio producer. If you're at all interested in checking us out, head to http://chillingtalesfordarknights.com. There's an auditions page where you can audition for a narrator role with the channel if that suits your fancy. If not, I hope you at least enjoy what you hear!

Look forward to hearing more about this Jeff

Kathy Lynch

Woohoo, how cool!! Checking it out now.

Kris Keppeler

Thanks. I'm sending in an audition. Great production values on the stories.

Seika Groves

Jeff are you looking for Voice talent for this?

Jeff Clement

We're always looking for voice talent, Seika. We have a roster of voice actors that we draw from when casting and always welcome new auditions.

Seika Groves

So what do you require for an audition? you can visit my website http://seikagroves.com for my VO demo

Jeff Clement

We typically ask that people visit http://www.chillingtalesfordarknights.com/audition/ and follow the instructions to email your demo to us. It would be ideal if you demo included narration and character work, rather than commercial work, so we can get a feel for your acting ability and tone. People who don't have those in their demos typically find a short story and record a couple of minutes' worth and send that along.

Seika Groves

yes had gander at the site.. we have a series of Penny Dreadfuls going on you can have a listen at what we (myself and hubby) do... all our voices all narrative http://halfpennydreadfuls.com/penny-dreadfuls/stories scroll down to bottom for audio files

Jeff Clement

Very cool! I love the radio-drama style you use. Would it be possible for you to send an audio file to the email address? That way it gets automatically added to our collaboration portal and will prompt the entire executive team to review your audition.

Seika Groves

i can do that... is there one you preferred?

Jeff Clement

Well, listening to your demo on your website, it does seem you have some narration in there, too. So I think that would work best. I can always show them the rest of your samples separately.

Seika Groves

ok i'll go through the requested protocol and send that off to you tomorrow morning

Chadrick McNeal

Looks neat! I'll send you an audition soon.
