What if Stan Lee, H.P. Lovecraft, and Joss Whedon wrote a screenplay?

Well, I like to believe it would a little something like this...http://studios.amazon.com/projects/58713

William Martell

They would have to split the fee.

What fee?

Jim Jackson

Well... "Cabin in the Woods" is a riff on Lovecraft. 'Old Ones,' etc...

I believe "Cabin in the Woods" was not so much a riff on Lovecraft as it was a riff on the genre of horror in general. There really wasn't a single thing they didn't comment on. There was even an in-joke about Swedish horror. I mean, it was pretty much the Wright/Pegg treatment where they parody and homage a genre at the same time. Needless to say, it was also probably the best horror movie since the Scream series.

It owes a lot to James Cameron too, but don't hold that against me.

The first two Terminator movies were bad ass and I absolutely love Aliens. Game over, man!
