Nigel Bates

Nigel Bates started his career in production music in 1983 and was signed by Chappell Music Publishing.
His first album on Chappell, Electronic (Chap 101) was hugely successful worldwide, Music Week quoted one of the tracks Stratovarious as being the most successful library track of its time.

Nigel's music has been featured on over 100 music production albums and has been used on TV & Film productions such as Childrens Hospital, BBC Click, Dancing with the Stars, Ramsey Kitchen Nightmares, Top Gear, Jeremy Clarksons Extreme Machines and Motorworld, Gossip Girl, My Family, The Office USA, Bargain Hunt,Teenage Kicks, Red Dwarf, SpongeBob SquarePants, Terminator 2, Ace of Hearts (2008), Neighbours, Dawson's Creek, Danger Mouse, Mr Bean, Scooby Doo, WWE, Ray Mears World of Survival, Extreme Survival and Wild Food, Anthony Bourdain (No Reservation), Place in the Sun, Jewel of the Nile, Oprah Winfrey, Horizon, Survival, Galley Slaves, Knots Landing, Balamory, Prime Suspect, Cold Case Files, Sons and Daughters, Rough Science, Celebrity Deathmatch,, Rex Hunt, Graham Norton in New York, Animal Planet, National Geographic, Emmerdale, Fort Boyard, The New Adventures of Superman and many more.

Nigel has been fortunate to have worked with some great recording engineers and musicians on these projects, Ben Fenner, Tim Summerhayes, Neil Costello, Pete Smith, Herbie Flowers, Kevin Jarvis, Chris "Snake" Davies, Ron Asprey, Chris Payne, Sean Lyons, Tom Fenner, Dirk Campbell and Malcolm Mortimor. He has also co-written on occasions with Ben Fenner, Chris Payne and Paul Williams.
