Toby James

I’m Toby, a UK based composer, arranger, and musician. After studying in London, I have had the privilege of writing, recording and performing across the UK and internationally, with people such as the National Theatre, The BBC Big Band, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a composer, I am drawn to the darker genres such as thriller, horror and drama, putting emotion at the centre of my writing - whilst striving to create the perfect score using the ideal instrumentation to suit the given setting.
My personal ethos is that my job is done when you don’t realise I’ve done it - the music should blend seamlessly, compliment and enhance the visual performance.
