In the wake of a tumultuous presidential election, a philosophy professor and five of his students form a vigilante task force and attempt to change the trajectory of American politics by any means necessary.
SYNOPSIS:
As America staggers through the fallout of a divisive presidential election, Civil War rages in Somalia. The United Nations toils in diplomatic impotence while the incoming U.S. Administration aims to urge the Security Council to side with the democracy-seeking rebels of the war-torn nation. The Muslim socialists in power have honored cease-fires and sought compromise while the Christian rebels have refused to let up on their attacks and if left unchecked, the escalating situation could result in a body count surpassing Rwanda and Darfur combined.
FIVE PHILOSOPHY STUDENTS decide that the only way to break the diplomatic deadlock is to force the hand of the U.N. Secretary-General, DAVID KING, an American with close ties to the President-Elect who aims to serve America’s interests rather than those of the U.N. The students devise a plan to kidnap King and persuade him to plot a course in Somalia that would end the bloodshed while swaying America from its anti-Islamic policy-making.
Seeking guidance, they recruit their philosophy professor HUNTER LOCKE who, after considerable reflection, reluctantly agrees to lead them. Fueled by idealism and hindered by their humanity, these six individuals become BRAINSTORM and embark on their mission. The U.N.’s handling of Somalia and the millions of lives found therein await the outcome.
