Nik Hassinger

Nik Hassinger is a polyethnic, non-binary, ( they/them) gender-queer Filmmaker/Producer/Director who has had a passion for film and all things creative since they were very young and living in a small town in Pennsylvania. Nik’s Filipina grandmother introduced Nik to film, igniting a lifelong desire to make visual art. Nik has 20 years of experience within the TV/film/radio universe where they have completed 11 short films, garnered festival submissions and awards, and prioritized community activism. They began as a Production Assistant on Shameless, Chicago PD, Chicago Fire, Widows, Death Wish, The Exorcist, and Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams. Nik also works in reality TV, independent films, web-based content, and live sports including work on The Voice, The Amazing Race, the NFL Draft, Burgers Brews & ‘Que, and Married at First Sight as a Production Coordinator and Assistant Director on shows like "We're Here" on HBO. Nik serves as a Producer, Assistant Director, and Production Manager on many progressive political ads, and commercials with clients such as Nike, Sprint, Comcast, Pizza Hut, and Boeing.

Recently, Nik officially launched their own production company, 945 Productions LLC, based in Portland, Oregon. Nik is excited about leading upcoming projects with diverse and inclusive teams to tell the stories of people who have been silenced for too long.
