Michael Yu

An award-winning director from Hong Kong and Scotland, Michael Yu has a body of work across a breadth of genres (action, comedy, romance, etc.) which often takes on non-linear narrative structures, parallel editing, and vivid color palettes. With nominations from the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Los Angeles Film Awards, his narrative work often tackles themes of regret, greed, social class and racial inequality. Current projects include the upcoming documentary feature, "Film and My Way" (2023), and the action comedy short, "Rented Life" (2022).
