About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Brown is an author, screenwriter, and producer. She earned an MFA in Creative Writing (Screenwriting) and she is a graduate of the Writer’s Studio at Simon Fraser University.

As an author, she is represented by Sean McCarthy Literary Agency in New York. Her debut children's book, DANCING THROUGH FIELDS OF COLOR (Abrams, 2019), won the following awards and honors:

- New York Public Library Best Books of 2019
- a Junior Library Guild Selection
- Society of Midland Authors Awards 2020 - Honoree for Children's Nonfiction
- A Mighty Girl 2019 Book of the Year Selection

Her second book, LIKE A DIAMOND IN THE SKY: JANE TAYLOR’S BELOVED POEM OF WONDER AND THE STARS (Bloomsbury 2022) was selected for the Bank Street Best Books of the Year-2023..

She has forthcoming books to release soon including THE RIGHT TO PLAY (Albert Whitman, releases Fall 2024) and THE WORLD ENTIRE (Chronicle, releasing Spring 2025). Her fiction has appeared in the book IMMEDIATE FICTION (St. Martin's Press), and she is a contributor to a nonfiction book STREAM THIS NEXT (edited by Llane Bonin Starr, published by Rizzoli). Additionally, Elizabeth has written and published short stories, book reviews, and articles. She is currently working on a novel.
