About Christy

Christy’s longstanding love of writing and storytelling began with the Korean folk tales she read as a child, and authoring her own version of The Dark Crystal (which her parents wouldn’t let her watch, although she did see E.T. in the theater five times). Since graduating summa cum laude in English from Cornell University, writing has been a throughline of her career, which has encompassed restaurant reviews for the Zagat Survey and other food media; peer-reviewed journal articles on atmospheric science during her years as a doctoral fellow; and national policy and legislation for the U.S. Senate and the federal government. The distillation of all these experiences, of course, could only be half-hour comedy, which Christy sees as the most powerful lens through which to understand the struggles humans face as we try to get through this thing called life.

When she’s not working on screenplays, Christy loves hiking, scuba diving, watching movies at little local cinemas, and making sure she’s getting enough fiber. She lives in New York City.

Unique traits: Loves hiking and scuba diving.
