About Purna

Purna Singh Baraily (Baraili) is a distinguished leader and filmmaker, serving as the Founder/President of Nepal America Film Society, Inc. and the visionary force behind the Nepal America International Film Festival (NAIFF) in Maryland. Additionally, Mr. Baraili holds key roles as the Founder Chairperson of the Human Rights Film Center (HRFC), the Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival (NHRIFF), and the Founder Secretary of Jagaran Media Center (JMC) in Nepal.

Renowned for his contributions to the cinematic landscape, Mr. Baraili is the producer of the critically acclaimed historical television serial 'DALAN' and the Executive Producer of the feature film "Goodbye Kathmandu." His commitment to human rights is further exemplified by his role as a member of the Human Rights Film Jury at the Dubai International Film Festival in 2011.

Mr. Baraili earned his Cinema and Human Rights degree from the European Inter-University Center (EIUC) in Venice, Italy. He commenced his career as a journalist, making significant contributions to the field while working for a weekly newspaper and monthly magazine. He served as the Chairperson of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Lalitpur district chapter from 2009 to 2013.
