Pitch Feedback

Is it a mind game (i have a better word but can't use it here) or what?  I welcome constructive criticism but this is confusing.  First of all, they wrote "There are nice dramatic turns laid in throughout her synopsis. I wouldn’t want to see Christine sacrifice the in-depth richness of her synopsis....

Edgebound

Hi! New writer, caught the writing bug during the COVID lockdowns. I have a fully-written season (on spec) of a TV show, 1 hour episodes, crime thriller, character-driven, low-budget, female-led craziness. If Walter White and Lorelai Gilmore had an alcoholic daughter who grew up in a Steel Magnolias type of town, well... yeah.

Hey @Matt Dycus, sounds like a very exciting project. If it's an action/crime thriller type script, might be good to get the pilot out there via contests. Stage 32 is hosting the 4th Action/Thriller c...

Writing Non-Native Characters

Hi all,

I'm currently writing a character whose English is rather poor, and I find myself conflicted. On the one hand, poor English is part of character. On the other, badly written syntax and the occasional use of a different language could make the script harder to read.

Online advice is very contr...

Kiril, have you ever seen the "behind the scenes" thing from Snatch? It's am amazing insight into how Matthew Vaughn and Guy Ritchie brought Brad Pitt in to "put butts in seats," but then he kinda took the role on and blew everyone away.

Got my second feedback!

I got my second pitch feedback, and she loved it, said it even has promise. Her only complaint was the budget since it’s an animation. So hopefully I can figure out with adding that to the pitch and getting every episode down for the first season!

GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE: (Season 1 fully written.) A jilted wife returns to her socially-oppressive hometown and starts a farmer’s market stand to save her late mother’s house from foreclosure, but her burgeoning alcoholism, shady outside elements, and her own crime (past and present) threaten to ruin everything... and expose her murder of her husband and his mistress.
