Maya, the new hire, doesn't realize what she’s walked into at first. The fastidious AJ teaches her how to lie properly; Nia knows how to turn a con into a friendly American chat; and management demands adherence to procedure—specifically, pulling off at least one scam—or else no one gets paid.

When Maya warns a potential victim and tries to outsmart the system, her colleagues unexpectedly expose her. By the end of the night, she realizes these people are simultaneously con artists, friends, and hostages of their own poverty.

But the woman they called recorded the conversation. That recording is sent to someone who begins gathering evidence against BalancePoint. Now, every new call could bring the employees their pay—or be the very call that destroys them all.
