SPACE CASE
By Lance Whinery

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE:

Two cocky astronauts, bitter rivals since NASA training, are teamed together for a return trip to the moon. Their feud only worsens seconds after launch when they discover they've been seeing the same woman. Hurtling through space and refusing to work with each other, they spend more time sabotaging each other than focusing on their mission. It takes an International Space Station emergency to force them to overcome their differences and pull off a redeeming galactic rescue. Think "Step Brothers" in space.

SYNOPSIS:

RYAN DEVLIN is a highly respected rocket scientist, but still holding a grudge that he barely missed out on his dream of becoming a NASA astronaut. What's worse, he lost the final spot to a bitter rival, former pilot BRADLEY HENDRICKS who was squeezed in with the help of his family pedigree. When a meteor strikes the moon knocking over the American flag, the clueless, self-serving president decides to send a team to the moon to re-set it, despite not having a rocket prepared for such a mission or the time to properly plan for it. Because of the lack of willing astronauts, Ryan is given the opportunity to join the hapless mission.

His joy is subdued when he realizes the captain of the mission will be his former nemesis Bradley. The animosity quickly returns as the two prepare for their journey, and culminates to a dangerous high just moments before launch... when both men put together that Ryan's new girlfriend back home is unknowingly Bradley's wife! Now, off into space, and both men refusing to work with the other, they spend as much time sabotaging each other as they do on focusing on the task at hand.

The situation finally bursts when they are on the moon, resulting in a brawling no-gravity fist fight and nearly destroying the American flag they were sent to re-set. Broadcast all over the world, our spacemen are now embarrassments with the expectations of being expelled from NASA upon return. However, as they plot their way back, it is discovered that an accident at the International Space Station has left all the astronauts on board in peril. Realizing the task at hand, Ryan and Bradley decide they must work together, take matters into their own hands, and rescue their fellow astronauts. Disobeying orders and about to run into even more chaos and funny obstacles, Ryan and Bradley for the first time look beyond themselves, and in the process, become heroes again.
