In the lawless expanse of the 26th-century Frontier, a jaded bounty hunter haunted by his past assembles a broken crew aboard the Starlight—a rusting ship with more heart than hull—to unravel a cryptic trail of cards left by a shadowy crime syndicate known as the Court of Broken Cards. But as old ghosts resurface and loyalties fracture, vengeance may cost him the only family he has left.
SYNOPSIS:
In the year 2501, the stars no longer promise freedom—they conceal ghosts. After a devastating war between Earth and the Martian colonies, the galaxy fractured into lawless Frontiers where bounty hunters rule, syndicates thrive, and justice is sold to the highest bidder.
Blade, a grizzled bounty hunter with a dead eye and a haunted past, stalks the outer colonies in his rust-bitten ship, Starlight, chasing a trail of cryptic playing cards tied to a defunct crime syndicate: The Court of Broken Cards. But when a naive government dropout named Aryn, a sharp-tongued teenage mechanic Dom, and a reckless gunslinger named Celeste stumble aboard his mission, Blade is forced into a reluctant crew—and an unwilling family.
Each card reveals a deeper conspiracy. Each bounty dredges up old wounds. And at the heart of the storm waits Jack, Blade’s former mentor turned monster—whose betrayal cost Blade everything, including the woman he loved.
As memories and motives collide, the crew must choose whether to chase vengeance or build something new before the past buries them all.
Blending gritty noir, space-western grit, and a deeply human story of trauma, loss, and redemption, Starlight Opera is a genre-bending odyssey about the ghosts we carry—and the weight we choose to lay down.
