SYNOPSIS:

On a sunlit Sicilian island, during a vibrant summer festival, twenty-year-old twins Lily and Billy are drawn to a newly unveiled statue of Apollo amidst ancient Greek ruins. Lily, a passionate history lover, is startled when the statue of the god of light winks at her. Their intrigue deepens when they meet Marcelino, a charismatic puppeteer who performs a mythological tale about Apollo and his mother, Leto. Beneath the ruins lies a high-tech laboratory harboring dark secrets. The twins' parents, George and Martha—renowned researchers—are embroiled in dangerous DNA experiments funded by Aldo Baldini, a ruthless mafia boss desperate for an heir with his frail, sterile wife, Helena. Tensions rise as Anna and Roberta, two analysts in the lab, clash over the moral implications of their research. Meanwhile, Simon, a duplicitous chemist, unleashes chaos by planting a virus in the lab’s network. The consequences are catastrophic: an earthquake shakes Apollo’s statue aboveground while an explosion devastates the lab below, killing George and Martha. Simon escapes with a stolen USB drive, but the twins are left orphaned and consumed by grief. The device exposes secret dealings of a sinister figure named Professor Adderios, who orchestrated the lab explosion for his own criminal agenda. The twins and Apollo seek refuge at Marcelino’s secluded shack on a remote islet. Amid the danger, an undeniable attraction blossoms between Lily and Apollo, culminating in an intimate moment. As the boys play nearby, Helena asks Lily—gesturing toward the restored statue of Apollo— “Is he coming back?” Lily smiles knowingly at Apollo and winks playfully, echoing their first encounter and bringing the story full circle.
