DEATH’S RIDER is a horror Western revenge tale set in 1850s California. In a mythic prologue, Lucifer is cast down from Heaven and chained inside Mt. Diablo, the Devil’s Mountain — then loosened upon the earth to punish the wicked. Ages later, young Luciano Juárez and his family — proud charro horsemen — strike gold near the Stanislaus River as they build a new life. Luciano falls in love with Isabel, dreams of a life together, and bonds with the wild black stallion El Caballo Negro. But the racist Col. Jack Harder and his bloodthirsty posse, jealous of the “foreigners” striking it rich, slaughter Luciano’s parents in a brutal daytime raid.
