After accepting a mysterious guitar pick, a struggling singer-songwriter must decide if real love is what he wants or real fame tainted by murder with his heart and soul on the line and the unleashing of a demon on the world at stake.
SYNOPSIS:
"The Guitar Pick from Hell," recommended by We Screenplay, is written along the lines of films like "Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny" and "The Devil's Advocate."
When Kenny comes to his fiance, Gillian's house for a wedding planning dinner, he is disheartened that his future father-in-law is a no-show while Father Hayes is there after he has made his feelings about the church clear since his sick mother was taken advantage of by them to help pay for a roof and in the wake of her passing due to cancer.
As it turns out, Gillian's father, Chet, is a member of a Satanic cult masquerading as a member of a church group at Father Hayes's parish; he is instrumental in arranging for a music manager, Randall, to deliver a cursed guitar pick to Kenny. Kenny, ambitious to be more than a "coffee house singer," which is how Gillian sees him, accepts the pick, and when he wakes in the middle of the night and writes a song with it, a doppelgänger appears as a shadowy form and chokes the girl who inspired him.
Kenny wrestles with the notion that he somehow committed murder, but Randall assuages his guilt and says the song he wrote is now being recorded by a major pop band. After Kenny's ex, Gillian, bears witness to Kenny's strange behavior and the electric lightning bolts in his eyes, she alerts Father Hayes which prompts his discovery of the mission of Chet's Satanic group.
Armed with this knowledge, Kenny must face the demon now that a second girl has been killed as it grows more solid and confirm his faith and his love for Gillian, or she will be the third victim that will make Samael, the venom of God, fully manifest on Earth.
