A retired detective, working his final case, realizes the serial killer he is hunting is his best student — a fellow detective who is a master at covering his tracks. When the old detective learns that his police colleagues refuse to believe another detective is the murderer, he decides to use himself as bait to save the people held captive in his student’s basement.
