Snatched from an American Civil War battlefield, a man must fight for his own freedom when he's enslaved by a brutal society of women.

SYNOPSIS:

During the Civil War, Brady Lewis, late 20s, a photographer, finds himself in the midst of a heated battle. Armed with only a large camera, he’s seriously injured by an explosion - knocked unconscious. He wakes up in a medical tent, awash with blood, pain, and death. Floating in and out of unconsciousness, he sees three “nurses” – Virginia, Margaret, and Deborah. They pay a doctor to cart out fifteen injured men, Brady among them.

The men are placed on a sailing ship and carted across the ocean for several weeks by the three women. They are then rowed upriver, deep into a South American jungle. Finally, they reach their destination – a hidden, secret society of women. The society uses the labor of enslaved men and is separated into four distinct Houses - Healers, Academics, Artists, and Defenders – all led by Queen Sophia.

Brady is sent to the mines, where he eventually finds a large diamond.

Brady is selected by Virginia (the Matron for the Healers House) for the seasonal breeding ceremony – where a few chosen men are allowed to accompany a member of the Healers House for breeding purposes. Brady initially resists but realizes it would be a better way to spend a month than stuck deep in the island’s mines.

During the month, Brady and Virginia learn more about each other, even though he will not give in to her “breeding” advances. He learns that she is the heir apparent to the throne – since every House provides the queen every ten years. He also learns of the other Houses and the manner in which the bizarre society is setup. He also makes an enemy out of Deborah, the Matron of the Defenders House – who wants to ascend to the throne herself.

Brady and Virginia eventually develop strong feelings for one another. Virginia shows him an underground tomb “the womb of my world” and cave complex and tomb that runs under the entire village. During their “breeding month” she becomes pregnant.

Deborah and Queen Sophia use Virginia’s friend, Emily, as a means to discover that Virginia is doing prohibited things with Brady – singing, reading, dancing, etc, which are reserved solely for the Artists House. Her role, as a member of the Healers House is to heal and breed.

Lieutenant Laflamme, a French sailor, and his men, arrive to the island. They have a business relationship, delivering goods in exchange for diamonds from the society’s mines. Laflamme know Brady – and the fact that he’s not a northerner, but rather, a southerner whose family is one of the largest slave owners in Louisiana. Virginia is aghast. Everything he told her was a lie.

Brady is whipped. Virginia’s forbidden actions are exposed by Emily. Queen Sophia and Deborah move to reclaim the throne for longer than their societal rules allow.

Brady is allowed to speak with Laflamme and he offers him the diamond he found in exchange for passage for two (He and Virginia). Laflamme agrees and will return in six months. When he returns, Virginia is in childbirth. Brady sets off some explosions to distract the Defenders so that he can get Virginia and their child, who unfortunately for them, turns out to be a male. As is the society’s custom, the infant boy is taken by the Defenders and sacrificed at their ceremonial area.

Brady runs to the Defenders’ ceremonial area where he finds the women of that House in a drug induced frenzy. He battles Deborah for his son, saving him – while killing Deborah by burning her alive at the stake.

He destroys the village by placing explosive gunpowder barrels throughout the underground cave complex which runs under the entire village. The village is rent asunder, killing his captors.

Brady, Virginia, and their baby leave the ruins and make their way back to the United States.
