SYNOPSIS:

Maude Harari, a gifted ghostwriter trapped under a suffocating conservatorship, gets an unusual offer: write the memoir of dying millionaire Earnest Trapp in exchange for luxury accommodations and freedom from her oppressive check-ins. But as she interviews the elderly Vietnam veteran about his time as a tunnel rat, Trapp reveals he's harboring dark secrets about his past—and assigns Maude to investigate mysteries he won't fully explain. When Trapp's greedy grandchildren discover she's getting too close to the truth, they fire her and try to have her institutionalized. Now living on the streets and racing against time, Maude must finish the book that could either destroy her or set her free.
