Created by television producer Tim Taylor and presented by actor Tony Robinson, each episode features a team of specialists carrying out an archaeological dig over a period of three days with Tony Robinson explaining the excavations in layman's terms that everyone can understand.

As we approach the last programme in the last series of Time Team on Channel 4 many fans of this iconic and groundbreaking series cannot believe for a minute that it has effectively reached the end of the road. After twenty series, over 230 programmes and a wrath of special programmes can this really be the end of Time Team ??
