I started my journey with a dream. As a kid, I loved telling stories. I would gather my grandparents in their basement, dress up and take them on a journey which was most likely a dreadful bore however they acted as entertained as the first audience to watch Charlie Chaplin on the silver screen.
Then it happened, sitting at the feet of my papa's chair I watched E.T. and knew that I wanted to make movies. Didn't know how, or where but I knew that one day I would venture into filmmaking.
Fast forward years later and I found a camera and the rest is history. Telling stories through cinematography has been one of the greatest joys of my life. The intricacies of light and how it not only shapes the characters but the emotions is one of the greatest joys I have found in being a filmmaker. Add the comrodery and the friendships you find with a crew and you absolutely have the best job in the world. I love being on set, I love being behind the camera and I love the art, science and responsibility of being a cinematographer. The camera is my brush, the light is the paint and the film my canvas. Helping the director craft a beautiful portrait is what I love to do and I would not trade it for anything in this world.
