David is the author of Write for Life: Communicating Your Way Through Cancer, a companion book for the workshops and lectures he has presented at cancer centers throughout the country, including MD Anderson in Houston, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Rush University Cancer Center in Chicago, Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University in Atlanta, the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia) Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Duke Cancer Institute in North Carolina, Clearview Cancer Institute in Alabama, and the Univeristy of California Cancer Center in San Francisco, as well as for organizations, such as The American Cancer Society, The American Medical Students Association, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Lungevity, and Gilda’s Club.
Write for Life workshops use writing prompts, games, and innovative exercises to help patients, caregivers and medical professionals explore self-expression, cope with fears and stress, and manage the short- and long-term challenges that cancer brings.
