About Kim

I am a screenwriter, novelist, local public television producer and content creator in the business for 20 years. I have been writing screenplays since 2006. I have a certificate from UCLA Extension in screenwriting coverage. I live in New York with my senior cat, Joy.

My loves and hobbies are traveling (pre-COVID-19), SCUBA diving, binge watching favorite films and television shows, chi walking/running, decorating and crafts, cooking and baking, spending time with family and friends, experimenting with fashion and makeup, LOLing, qi gong, tai chi, improv acting (Washington Improv Theater, Level 3) and studying stock and real estate investing, as well as financial management.

I have also worked in the legal profession for 35 years as a court reporter, taking dictation and producing transcripts on schedule for hearings, trials and depositions.

I write screenplays and teleplays in multiple genres and I have had three separate screenplays reach semifinal and quarterfinal placements in numerous international contests.

I produced a two-part yoga show as well as co-produced a two-part documentary about Maroons (exiled enslaved people) at DCTV in Washington, DC, near where I lived (Maryland). These shows aired on DCTV in 2014 and 2016, respectively. DCTV has a viewership of over 300,000.

I am currently creating an online screenwriting course as well as writing and developing new scripts which I will be pitching here at Stage 32.

I have worked with and/or taken courses from many top industry screenwriting professionals as well as attended most major screenwriting seminars, both in person and online. I have also read many books authored by screenwriting professionals.

Here is a list of mentors that I have worked with hands on and whose courses I have attended, both in person and online, in the writing/producing/directing fields:
