BEATEN PATH

BEATEN PATH
By Mike Gasaway

GENRE: Horror
LOGLINE:

A group of adventure-seeking campers decide to test a local wives’ tale by venturing off a wooded path only to get slaughtered one by one.

SYNOPSIS:

“No matter what you do, stay on the path.”

This was the warning passed down from generation to generation about a trail at the local campground. Stories were swapped, describing what happened if anyone ever dared to venture off the path. Loved ones went missing. Children were killed. Strange things all in all. Mostly stories…

…mostly.

This story begins as a normal weekend camping trip. A group of college friends pumped up for a few days of non-stop shenanigans. When the campfire starts heating up, so do the tales of the mysterious path. It’s all fun and games until one member of the group goes missing. And when the others try and find her, their search sends them…

…off the path.

Quickly they discover the horrific stories are true. It’s as if a different world exists off the path with no way to get back. And as terrifying as this is, their nightmare has just begun. Because soon after entering into this deadly realm, they realize they’re not alone.

One by one, members of the group are taken, as someone – or some “thing” – stalks them.

The smaller the group becomes, suspicions start to rise, as it starts becoming clear that someone in the group may not be who they seem… and that something more sinister may be about to surface…

…off the Beaten Path.

The synopsis alone is scaring me. Recently worked on my 1st horror and loved it.

Synopsis sounds good. It sounds like it starts off like every other horror movie does, but I feel it has potential.
