A sex worker trapped at an interstate truck stop is bitten by an iguana contaminated in a medical-courier crash and begins transforming into a reptilian predator, turning the lot where men have abused her into her hunting ground—until violence against the one person who treated her with kindness forces her to finally break free.
SYNOPSIS:
Liza has been stranded at an interstate truck stop for far too long. Broke, unable to get west, and routinely cheated, ignored, and abused by the men passing through, she watches vehicles arrive and leave while she remains trapped beneath the same red-orange sign.
When a medical-courier driver offers her a ride, the trip ends in assault and a violent crash. Bitten by his iguana and contaminated by fluid from the van’s ruptured cargo, Liza returns to the truck stop changed. Her wounds heal unnaturally fast. She is drawn to heat. And when threatened, she transforms into a reptilian predator.
As Liza turns on an abusive trucker, a controlling pimp, a hypocritical televangelist, and violent bikers, the place that served as her cage becomes her hunting ground. Darryl, the quiet Quick Mart clerk, is the only person who treats her without judgment or expectation. Their growing bond gives Liza a reason to remain—until the bikers attack him. Liza unleashes the creature, reveals the motorcycle she has hidden, and takes Darryl west with her before the law closes in.
