My current film project, "Cold Call," is a NY Times short story by Rahul Mehta. The movie follows Naveen, a gay Indian male, in his first year of college. Naveen has not come out and his Indian family and culture creates obstacles for him to come out.
One night Naveen receives a cold call from a complete stranger with promises of an illicit encounter which until this point had only dwelled in Naveen's fantasies. Filled with curiosity Naveen agrees to meet the caller and they arrange a clandestine meeting in the their school library. A meeting that could offer not just what Naveen wants, but perhaps what he really needs.
