FRAME / SMALL HOUSE
By Shahin Rashidhashemi

GENRE: Horror, Drama
LOGLINE: In a haunted institution designed to ethically record trauma, a small team of staff must outwrite the building’s emerging “ethics” to prevent it from optimizing human pain into efficient patterns – a quiet institutional horror in the vein of Severance meets The Grudge.

SYNOPSIS:

FRAME / SMALL HOUSE is a 9-episode prestige horror/drama series (with outlined future seasons) about a “House of Light” pilot site where unresolved pain lingers and the building itself begins learning from archived testimonies.
On opening day, an intake officer vanishes, forcing the team to confront how bureaucracy, metrics, and euphemisms can weaponize suffering. As the House tests modules like debt-tracking, rationing comfort, and reusing trauma, the staff draft protective policies to embed ethics into the system – succeeding just enough to “infect” the national rollout with human limits.
Tonally blending Severance’s institutional dread with Mike Flanagan’s emotional horror, the series explores who controls the narrative when the archive starts pushing back.
Full series bible, pilot script (“The Cart”), and episode outlines attached. Seeking representation and development partners.
