BAD BROC

BAD BROC
By Joshua Geyer

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Romance, Comedy, Animation
LOGLINE: When a washed-up, sentient broccoli career criminal is shipped to an experimental “healthy living” prison, he’ll do anything to game the system—until the only way out is to actually face his addictions, his past, and a world that would rather lock him up than help him grow.

SYNOPSIS:

Bad Broc is an adult animated dark comedy set inside The Crisp, a crumbling private prison built to warehouse “problem produce” the world would rather not deal with. Our lead is B. Hudson, a once-cocky, street-smart broccoli whose whole life has been one long bad choice: petty hustles, anger issues, self-medicating and burning every bridge that ever tried to help him. When we meet him, he’s delivered to The Crisp in chains, processed like meat through a broken system and dumped in a yard full of other sentient foods who are just as damaged, dangerous and ridiculous as he is. Across the series, Broc fights the system, the other inmates and most of all himself. He tries every classic prison move: manipulating guards, running contraband, scheming for early release and turning therapy into a joke. But The Crisp is a pressure cooker: overcrowded blocks, underpaid staff, a box-ticking “rehabilitation” program and a warden who only cares about profit and PR. Every gag riot over canteen menus, contraband salad bar, cell-block TikTok ring peels back another layer of how this place actually works. Slowly, through a mismatched support group, an exhausted but stubborn counsellor and a few inmates who refuse to let him off the hook, Broc is forced to confront the shame and trauma that put him here. Tonally aimed at the same audience as Big Mouth, the show mixes filthy, surreal humour with brutally honest emotional beats. Each episode plays as a prison-yard caper or absurd scheme gone wrong, but the long game tracks whether a guy like Broc can change in a system built for him to fail. Is he just “Bad Broc” forever, or can the worst vegetable in the yard become something better in a world that still wants him on the trash heap?
