Synopsis: THE INVISIBLE STITCH
In the manicured suburbs of 1958 Dallas, Evelyn is the portrait of mid-century perfection a woman of pearls, poise, and absolute control. But when a traveling salesman's accidental tea spill threatens the sanctity of her home, Evelyn performs a clinical act of violence that leaves a body in her basement and a "stain" on her conscience. When Ruthie, a 16-year-old runaway with a traumatic past, witnesses the aftermath, Evelyn doesn't eliminate her. Instead, she adopts her, beginning a dark mentorship in the "Invisible Stitch" the art of removing human messes with the same surgical precision used to mend a silk dress.
As Ruthie evolves from a terrified "stray" into a lethal apprentice, the pressure inside the Highland Park home reaches a boiling point. Evelyn’s abusive and resentful husband, Earl, becomes increasingly paranoid, mistaking the two women's ritualistic "cleaning" for a sordid affair. Caught between a violent man who wants to own her and a mentor who views human life as a laundry chore, Ruthie must decide how far she is willing to go to belong to this "perfect" family. But as the police close in and the secrets pile up, Ruthie begins to realize that in Evelyn’s house, every mess eventually needs a final cleanup and no loose thread is left behind.
