KONFIDENTIAL

KONFIDENTIAL
By Haider Abdulhamid

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Drama
LOGLINE: A troubled fan-turned-videographer infiltrates the metal band Kittie’s inner circle, discovering artistic redemption and a complex polyamorous romance while confronting the silent effects of a traumatic brain injury.

SYNOPSIS:

Set in the early 2000s nu-metal scene, KONFIDENTIAL follows Seth Miller, a shy and troubled fan who sneaks backstage at a Kittie concert with an old camera and a pizza box. Impressed by his dedication, the band invites him to join their tour as an official videographer. As Seth documents the chaotic life on the road, he uncovers a hidden talent for guitar, contributing to the band’s music with darker, more powerful tones. Along the way, he develops a committed polyamorous relationship with sisters Morgan and Mercedes Lander. Beneath the surface, Seth battles the worsening effects of a traumatic brain injury sustained in childhood—memory lapses, nightmares, and sudden outbursts—while navigating the pressures of touring and fame. By the end of the journey, Seth finds acceptance, belonging, and a fragile but real redemption through music, love, and an alternative family that embraces him.

FADE IN:

EXT. CITY STREET – NIGHT Rain pours steadily over dimly lit streets. Reflections shimmer on wet asphalt. SETH MILLER (late 20s, pale, restless) walks, clutching an old video camera and a cold pizza box. He glances at the venue ahead, where distant screams and guitar riffs echo.

SETH (V.O.) The night… it never just covers the city. It traps everything. Every thought. Every fear.

He pulls his hood tight and moves forward, careful to avoid puddles.

INT. CONCERT VENUE – BACKSTAGE – NIGHT Fluorescent lights flicker overhead. The air is heavy with sweat, dust, and faint smoke. MORGAN LANDER (vocals/guitar), MERCEDES LANDER (drums), TALINA ATTFIELD (guitar), and FALLON BOWMAN (bass) move efficiently, adjusting instruments, checking monitors, exchanging tense glances.

Seth raises his camera, snapping photos: Morgan’s nervous glance, Talina closing her eyes mid-note, Fallon tuning silently.

MORGAN (whispers) You’re not filming us… you’re seeing something behind us.

Seth freezes. Nods slightly. He doesn’t know what to say, but feels something stir inside him.

EXT. TOUR BUS – NIGHT Bus doors close behind Seth. He steps in, camera swinging from his neck. He sits in the corner, observing the band settling in. Engine hum mixes with faint riffs from Talina’s guitar.

SETH (V.O.) Belonging… it’s dangerous.

ACT ONE – THE INITIATION

INT. TOUR BUS – NIGHT Seth edits footage from the concert, sharing it with the band. They watch silently. A small smile forms on Morgan’s face.

MERCEDES Not bad. You’ve got an eye.

Talina leans in, inspecting the camera screen.

TALINA It’s… honest.

Seth exhales, relieved. A fragile trust begins.

INT. VENUE – NIGHT (FIRST SHOW) Crowd roars. Seth films while observing: sweat, energy, raw emotion. He captures more than the music—he captures life unfolding.

MONTAGE – TOUR LIFE

Seth filming gigs, editing late at night.

Struggling with headaches, flashes of memory loss.

Watching the sisters exchange glances, tension building.

Quiet moments in the bus, small smiles, laughter, and subtle touches.

ACT TWO – FALLOUT AND FURY

INT. TOUR BUS – NIGHT Seth experiments with guitar, timidly at first, then confidently. Morgan notices.

MORGAN (playfully) You’re hiding some tricks.

SETH I… I just try to hear something new.

Symptoms worsen: headaches, partial memory loss, bursts of anger. He drops gear, forgets camera settings. Tension builds.

INT. VENUE – NIGHT (MID-SHOW DISASTER) Live performance. Seth forgets to activate the cameras. The crowd cheers, but the recording fails. Journalists notice. The band glares.

MERCEDES (angry, low) We can’t keep covering for you, Seth.

Morgan whispers to Mercedes, tension rising. Seth retreats, overwhelmed.

INT. BUS – LATE NIGHT The sisters approach Seth. The air is charged.

MORGAN You think this is just fun? It’s real. And you… you have to face it.

SETH I… I’m trying.

ACT THREE – COLLAPSE AND CHOICE

INT. VENUE – FINAL SHOW – NIGHT Pressure peaks. Media, fans, and expectations collide. Seth’s symptoms flare. Almost loses control on stage.

FALLON (cutting) Seth, you’re either with us… or against us.

Seth steps back, breathing hard. He makes a choice: honesty.

INT. BACKSTAGE – NIGHT Seth addresses the band and the sisters. Words deliberate, heavy, sincere.

SETH I’ve been hiding from myself… from you… from everything. I’m not perfect. But I want to try.

The band listens. Tension slowly eases. Morgan and Mercedes exchange a glance, conflicted but trusting.

EXT. CITYSCAPE – DAWN Seth looks out the bus window at the awakening city. Sunlight cuts through night shadows. Camera rests on his lap.

SETH (V.O.) No perfect ending. No total victory. Just truth. Acceptance. Life.

He smiles faintly, a small weight lifted. Music drifts softly in the background.

FADE OUT.
