After the unexplained death of his wife, a grief-stricken defense scientist secretly uses experimental quantum sound technology to resurrect her—only to discover he has opened a doorway not to the dead, but to the biblical prison of fallen angels, unleashing demons into the world and forcing him to confront the horrifying truth that humanity’s survival may rest on undoing his own catastrophic mistake.
SYNOPSIS:
Dr. Nathaniel Cross, a senior research scientist at a powerful defense technology firm, has devoted his career to quantum acoustics, studying the potential of sound to resonate across dimensions. When his wife Lydia dies suddenly from a mysterious illness, Nathaniel’s grief drives him beyond the boundaries of science.
Secretly, he believes his experiments can communicate with the dead in Sheol. Desperate to bring Lydia back, he steals her body from the morgue and runs a clandestine experiment. Miraculously, she awakens.
At first, joy overwhelms Nathaniel—but subtle changes soon surface. Lydia behaves oddly, knows things she could not, and grows obsessively interested in his research. Meanwhile, an uptick in bizarre violence worldwide—serial killings, ritualistic attacks, inexplicable acts of cruelty—signals a far darker truth.
Nathaniel discovers the unthinkable: he did not open a doorway to Sheol. He opened Tartarus, the prison of fallen angels. The entity now inhabiting Lydia’s body is a demon. Using Nathaniel’s technology, she unleashes more, who spread across the globe by possessing human hosts.
Humanity soon learns the terrifying rules: demons cannot leave a host unless the body is killed, and ordinary humans cannot destroy them. The demons spare Nathaniel, finding delight in his torment as he watches civilization begin to crumble.
As chaos spreads, Nathaniel joins a small underground resistance of scientists and survivors to study, contain, and combat the demonic threat. But the demons are not united—rival factions vie for power, some seeking domination, others chaos, while the angels of heaven watch from afar. Open intervention could trigger an apocalyptic war between angels and fallen angels, leaving humanity caught in the middle.
Nathaniel must confront the consequences of his obsession, navigate a world filled with supernatural predators, and find a way to reverse the catastrophe he caused—before it’s too late.
