SYNOPSIS:

Series Overview:

Polly/Anna is the story of how Polly, a sweet-natured and incredibly cerebral graduate student in the Museum Studies department at Columbia University becomes the highly sought after escort, Anna.

Pilot Synopsis:

After a life in the service industry, Polly’s mother Ruth is diagnosed with osteoarthritis and has to give up her waitressing job at the local diner. Polly convinces her mother, that things will be tight, but she should be able to support the family on the money she receives from her graduate assistantship. Unfortunately for Polly, her university cuts all assistantships in her program and she is two weeks too late to file for any financial aid. She is now at a loss as to how she will support her mother and her deaf brother, not to mention, how she will pay for her graduate work. As Polly teeters on the verge of a break down, her friends take her out on the town to try to help her forget her troubles. She begins to loosen up and enjoys the evening out but is criticized by Theo for being a “Pollyanna.” To prove that she is not a goodie-two-shoes, Polly picks up a business man at the bar and decides to have a one-night stand with him. All the while, the businessman thinks she is the escort he hired for the evening. The next morning as Polly is doing the most epic walk of shame of her life; the businessman’s intended escort, Marina, and her manager, Big Ben, attack Polly for stealing their business.
