I have recently completed a PhD in English Literature with a concentration on literary adaptations. My main interests lie in adaptations of eighteenth and nineteenth-century British novelists on film and television, particularly women's writing, and in the screen representations of male characters across different historical and cultural contexts. My PhD thesis, for which I am currently working on a book proposal, concentrated on the representation of Rochester (Jane Eyre) and Heathcliff (Wuthering Heights) in different film and television adaptations of the Brontes' novels.
Currently I am involved in script reading while teaching at the university level, but have higher ambitions of a career in the film and/or television world. I am also interested in screenwriting for adaptation, as well as biopics of historical figures, documentary films, and history on screen. Additionally, I would be interested in opportunities for research, factual and fictional, into historical accuracy, character development, literary and cultural movements, location scouting and literary advising.
