I’m a movie man. Always have been. Film is the closest thing to what I would consider my religion. It inspires, reflects, uplifts, and entertains. Movies are the prism through which to consider our existence.
I write reviews, comment on industry developments, revisit and advocate classics, and even do a bit of movie-making myself (see heathbenfield.com for more).
I’m also a writer, producer, editor, and educator. And I’m for hire.
Pop Horror Mean girl Aubrey Duke has stepped on a lot of people to climb to the top of the social ladder at Marbrook High. But when an unexpected “Zitzilla” surfaces square on her forehead hours before her date with the starting Varsity quarterback, she must call in a desperate favor to help clear the blemish before he rings her doorbell. Enter Virginia Crane, Aubrey’s estranged best friend from Junior High. Even though they haven’t spoken since Aubrey graduated to a higher social status in 8th grade, Virginia is the only one that can help by recalling an age-old spell that might make the pimple magically vanish. But karma has a funny way of popping back up when they accidentally discover that only a few fateful words can distinguish a spell from a curse.
