I was born in NYC but moved down to the 6th borough, Miami, as a child. I started my career as a singer-songwriter in my teens playing in garage bands graduating to the clubs at 18. My band Tardy Afternoon was the 1st All-Original Rock band back in 1977. We had quite a scene down here with loads of talent including Coz Canler, local Cuban rocker & lead guitarist playing with the Romantics for 30 years. His drummer, Dave Petratos, was also from South Florida. Even Johnny Depp got his start down here opening up for us & various other bands while he played guitar for the Kids. With disco and then New Wave, the industry had changed and rapidly approaching 30, I was starting to get nervous of my place in life. Then in '84, I joined the Navy to get my life together & avoid a stint in the pokey. I got out in '91 and jumped right back where I left off playing in a band & back in the club circuit. And that's where I'm at still except I work as a cameraman to pay the bills shooting films, docs, commercials, anything that comes up. That exposure introduced me to writing and I'm currently writing books and screenwriting. I have a script, "Slow Cool Burn" under consideration with a production company & have another one I'm currently writing that's chronicling that crazy hey day we had down here from '75 to '85. Sex, drugs, Rock & Roll and all that came with it. Had it not been for disco, South Florida would have definitely made it's name & overshadowed North Florida where Tom Petty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Allman Brothers & Outlaws all hailed from. So South Florida is rising up again but this time in the film industry and I'm super excited over the bevy of talent we have & looking forward to being a part of it!
