Joey Mercado

To be ushered into the Cinematographer's Guild is an honor, and to have the late, legendary photographer
Ken Regan (SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, PHILADELPHIA) as the photographer to do so, makes it all the more significant.

Joey Mercado grew up in Anaheim, California consumed with a passion for photography. He began in the sports arena
where he covered one of the nation's #1 College Prep Football programs - -SERVITE - -and various other Southern California
High School teams for OC Varsity, the OC Register and more. Later in his career, Joey made the transition from sports to Hollywood, appropriately enough by way of football, with the classic RUDY. The So Cal photographer has also done still photography for such talent as Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson (BOTTLE ROCKET, RUSHMORE) and worked with
horror guru Director Robert Kurtzman (WISHMASTER, BURIED ALIVE.) His resume of late adds the biopic ROBESON,
starring Golden Globe winner David Harewood, THE CONTROL GROUP, starring Academy Award winner Brad Dourif, and
personal photography for Film Critic extraordinaire, David Sheehan.

Though he is known in the film circles for his amazing sense of timing and physicality to get "the shot," this photographer
credits his almost intuitive ability to "feel the moment" that captures it.

Joey Mercado is a standing member of the Local 600 International Cinematographer's Guild.
