Life can be confusing. Others don't always see us as we see ourselves. The way we look or act can create an immediate impression of who we are and where we should be going. A society matron and her houseguest or is he a gigolo? A society matron in the making but is that what she really wants to be? Her hard drinking brother has a reason for his constant intoxication. Unfortunately, only his party crashing taxi dancer girlfriend knows what it is. A female WWI spy is writing a book about her exploits that no one here believes and the beautiful black stenographer who is to help her - well, she knows what she wants but who wants her? Before the night is over one will be shot and the murder will out everyone's real secrets, ambitions and desires.
