Gregg Easterbrook won the prestigious Eastman Cinematography Scholarship while earning a magna cum laude MFA in Film from UNC-Greensboro. His early commercial work garnered him a selection to SHOOT Magazine's renowned New Directors Showcase. Since then, his work has been featured in numerous film festivals and award shows (Santa Barbara, Camerimage, SXSW, Edinburgh Film Festival, Tellys, Spirits, Addys and Clios), and can be regularly seen "in theaters near you." He's lensed features for Lionsgate, eOne, IFC Films, New Films Int'l, Vertical Entertainment, Arclight and VMI, among others.
For Gregg, crafting the right look for each story is the most important thing. To do that, he's used formats ranging from Super-35mm anamorphic film to Canon 5d digital and everything in between. Recently, he was the first cinematographer in the world too shoot a feature film on the new Sony F55 Cinealta 4K camera -- the crime drama Wicked Blood, starring Abigail Breslin, Sean Bean, Alexa Vega and James Purefoy. The film was selected to screen at CAMERIMAGE in Poland, the most important cinematography film festival in the world.
No matter what the format, dramatic lighting and elegant composition make Gregg's cinematography stand out, and the critics have noticed.
