My storytelling passion led me to Fine Arts and Illustration in University, and Visual Effects and Digital Animation at the Art Institute of BC. I worked in Special Effects for Film and TV for a few years, and then spent 5 years working in TV News.
I got my fingers deeply into the control room, but was always excited about venturing out into the world and gathering stories myself. I loved the interviewing, the videography and the editing. It was the desire to handle stories from start to finish that lead me to create my own videography company, YA Films.
Unique traits: I love capturing beauty, ideas and the heart of a story with my high tech, high quality equipment and puzzling out how to best share that story by collaging together the pieces in my editing process. You can see examples of my work on the YA Films website here: www.yafilms.net
